Self-portraiture | Long Island Family Photographer

In 2008 and 2009 I did "365" projects on Flickr - a self portrait a day for a whole year. It was such a good experience - I learned so much about photography, "met" many other inspiring photographers doing similar projects on Flickr, and also ended up with a fantastic record of those years that I will treasure forever.

This year, in an effort to make creativity and photography a priority again in the wake of The Year of Lila, I signed up for an e-course called "52 of You" by Now You workshops. I am already loving the challenge of taking self-portraits again and re-discovering an awesome community of women photographers on Flickr.

Each Monday I receive an email with my assignment for the week. Week 1 was "Arm's Length", week 2 was "Mantra". I am loving these challenges so much and look forward each week to the emails hitting my inbox! It's also so gratifying to interacting with people on Flickr again. I love the community!

Here are a few of the self-portraits I have taken so far:

I'm so looking forward to the rest of the year!
