And Baby Boy makes FOUR!

We are so excited to share that we are expecting a baby boy in early June! I am about 14 weeks along and everything is good. We have been hoping for this baby for a little while now, wanting to complete our family and give Lila a sibling. We could not be more thrilled to be having a little boy!

I am feeling really good - no first trimester symptoms to be found, aside from fatigue and a bit of insomnia. I have been really lucky so far. I am seeing a midwife this time around and already my care is so much more relaxed, which I am very appreciative of. With Lila I was on tour until I was 24 weeks pregnant, seeing doctors all over the place and flying in and out of New York to see my ob/gyn. We moved two weeks before Lila was born. Just being in the same town as my midwife this time is such a luxury. She specializes in high risk patients, which I am considered because of my advanced maternal age (ha!) and high blood pressure. I will deliver at our nearby hospital under her care. My blood pressure so far this pregnancy has been normal. I am on meds this time (I wasn't with Lila). I'm hoping the rest of the pregnancy continues to be as smooth as the first trimester has been.

We did a lot of genetic testing a couple of weeks ago and all is great. We have a perfectly healthy baby! The new tests they have now (even new in the two years since I had Lila) can tell the baby's sex, so that's how we know we are having a boy this early on in the game.

We had a sonogram two weeks ago and baby boy was flipping around all over the place and sucking on his thumb. We also heard his heartbeat for the first time, which is always an amazing and wonderful thing to hear.

I'm showing much earlier this time - I guess those stomach muscles were shot after having Lila! Its been pretty hard to hide. Glad I don't have to anymore!

We know Lila is going to be the best big sister. I can't wait to see the shenanigans these two get into!

Needless to say, we have a lot to be thankful for this holiday season!

I've been journaling a little bit about this pregnancy, in this Flickr set.
