Friday round-up | Long Island Family Photographer
Man, Friday mornings kick my butt. Lila has music class at 11am so the morning is rushed and then its kind of an exhausting hour of making sure my crazy toddler doesn't step on one of the babies in the class. I need a nap after that!
Some of my favorite reads this week:
I've said before that Kelle's blog is one of my favorites. I love this piece on letting your kid be who they are. I am trying to let Lila do that in music class, even if it means not always doing what the rest of the group is doing.
I love these Garry Winogrand photos. I can't wait for the exhibit to come to New York!
I've read all kinds of opinions this week about Angelina Jolie's choice to get a double mastectomy. I know as an older mom, I want to be around for Lila as long as possible. I completely understand Angelina Jolie making this decision for her family, especially since she lost her own mother early. I think it was a very brave thing to do.
This Rain Room at MoMA looks SO cool!
I want to get some of these color splashed lens filters!
These photographs of "icons of the sixties" by Terry O'Neill are fantastic. I can't wait to get his book!
Because I love a good e-course, I signed up for The Phone Photography Project for the month of July - 32 Days of photo challenges - fun!
And now, a few of my favorite things this week!
'm in the midst of doing the 21 Day Sugar Detox. Two recipes that are saving me from jumping over a cliff right now (because oh my god, I'm so sick of eating eggs) are these carrot pumpkin spice muffins, which are tasty and moist (which many gluten and sugar free baked goods are not!) and this decadent loaded cauliflower casserole. Yum.
I've been watching Call the Midwife on my iPad during my commute. So good! The main character, Jenny, is my least favorite of all the girls, though. I love Chummy! More Chummy!
When I finish Call the Midwife, I'm starting Scandal. Everyone at work is obsessed.
nd speaking of iPads, I have this keyboard for my iPad, and I LOVE it so much. It turns my iPad into a little netbook. Its awesome.
I leave you with a photo of Lila in the car waiting for her dad at Home Depot :)
Enjoy your weekend!
