Home stretch, people! Three more days of work before maternity leave! Last night Lila woke up at 4am and didn't go back to sleep. So I got 3 hours of sleep total. Yawn. Not that I think my overnight sleep is going to be any more restful with a newborn here, but at least I'll be able to go to bed earlier. I'm just worn out at this point. Anyway, we will try (key word here is TRY) to take it easy today and hopefully Lila will take an epic nap later when I can grab some zzzz's too.
In the meantime, some links for you!
I like the idea of a capsule wardrobe, comprised of a few really good pieces that can be mixed and matched. This is a good post about creating a capsule wardrobe as a mom.
Forget about first class, for just $20,000 you can rent an apartment on a plane!
VoiceSnap lets you snap iPhone photos by using a voice command. I'm intrigued!
Turning a loaf of garlic bread into a pizza is kind of a genius idea.
This web app reminds you of Lightroom and Photoshop shortcuts - this could be really handy!
These photos of North Brother Island in the East River of NYC are really eerie - I never knew this island existed!
My friend Julie recently wrote about her postpartum experience after having twins and linked to two articles about America's postpartum practices - "Why Are America's Postpartum Practices So Rough on New Mothers?" and also "Stop Acting Like Bouncing Back from Labor is Even Possible". I found these to be really interesting reads, especially just a few days after being asked by a (male) coworker "Why do women have to stay in the hospital after they give birth?". Really? Um, you try pushing a watermelon out of your penis and see if you walk away unscathed!
This is such a charming short film, and the kid in it is my new favorite actor.
Intrigued about the new documentary Breastmilk. I have breastfeeding on the brain...have been doing some reading to refresh my memory about it in preparation for the little dude's arrival.
Once We Become Parents, We Don't Want to Hang Out With You Anymore...every single word of this rang true for me - I seriously could have written this.
