Friday Round-up | Long Island Photographer

The end of the week is here - I'm in the "final countdown" until maternity leave - can I hear a "woot, woot!"? I will miss my coworkers a lot, but I am SO ready to spend some quality time at home with my littles. I am so looking forward to it.

Its been a busy week of trying to get more things crossed off the "Baby to do" list, but I do have some fun links for you.

A pack of four cute maternity patterns!

Some good tips on balancing a photography career with family.

A very helpful post on prime lenses and different focal lengths. I rarely take my 50mm prime off my full frame camera. When I shot with a cropped sensor camera, I favored my 35mm.

This no-bake french silk pie looks delish.

A closer look at the beautiful photo book Pink Ronnie put together of her family's daily rhythms.

A beautiful post about Mother's Day and being a mom.

This subway parody is hilarious and SO TRUE.

A post about Sands Point, one of me and Lila's favorite summer day trip spots!

Customized chore charts for kids.

Litely looks like another iOS photo processing app that I will love!

Met Gala red carpet arrivals...always fun to check out the clothes!

I follow this guy on Flickr, and I am always in awe with how well he uses a wide angle lens. I think his photos are awesome.

Lighting tips and tricks for bloggers and photographers - helpful stuff!

Some great pointers on how to remotely control your DSLR camera.

Missed Connections for A-holes. This cracked me up.

My favorite thing this week? The soundtrack to "The Bridges of Madison County". How is this show closing so soon? I haven't seen it yet, but I think I need to take a show off this week to go and do just that before it closes May 18th. I mean, Steven Pasquale singing love songs to a character named FRANCESCA all night? Yes, please. Prepare to collapse into a messy puddle of goo when you hear him sing It All Fades Away.

Also, if you haven't seen any of the Youtube videos of Steven in "The Secret Garden" benefit concert from a few years back, then do yourself a favor and check them out - here, I even looked a few up for you: Where in the World/How Could I Ever Know with Laura Benanti, and In Lily's Eyes (this version is from a Joe's Pub concert) with Will Chase. We won't talk about how hung over I was during the all-day rehearsal for that benefit concert. Those were my younger, dumber days.

Okay, but while we are on the subject, when is "The Secret Garden" going to be revived on Broadway??? Man, that music is gorgeous.

Okay, enough with my geeking out over musical theater.

Have an awesome weekend!
