Weekly Round-up | Long Island Family Photographer

First things first: still no baby.

I've been pretty bored this week. My "to do" list is done, and ordinarily I would take Lila out on some day trips, but I'm not feeling physically up to it, so we are not venturing out too much. It's making me a little stir crazy. Eric has also been working 24-7 so adult interaction has been minimal, making my brain a little numb.

Hopefully not too much longer until the baby is here.

Monday was Memorial Day and we barbecued in the backyard with Eric's family. We filled half of Lila's sand table up with water and she had a blast playing with it.

Silly girl watching her morning TV.

We got a new storm door. I LOVE it. It is glass floor to ceiling and the top part rolls down to become screen. It makes such a difference with the light and fresh air. Plus now Lila can look out to the front.

I'm obsessed with the sunlight it allows in.

Lila has been tolerating her hair in pigtails. It looks SO cute! Plus conveniently keeps it out of food while she's eating.

Lila's art corner:

Cheeky monkey playing on Mom and Dad's bed. She kept asking me to take her picture.

My Project Life spread last week:

The little dude is getting big. I'm pretty uncomfortable these days.

Some days she looks so grown-up.

Out for a walk around the block:

We're having some toddler food struggles over here. Dinner time is the worst. Sometimes I just let her eat while she watches TV because its easier. Probably not the best parental strategy, but at the end of the day I don't have the energy to fight!

She's really into building block towers right now.

Evening light.

Yesterday we actually made it out of the house for a little excursion - we went over to Planting Fields Arboretum for a picnic and a walk. It was so nice out!

And that was our week. I'm going to attempt some more outings this week that will hopefully keep us occupied until the little boy makes an appearance. Maybe he's waiting for my midwife to get back into town? (she's on vacation until Sunday). Who knows.

And finally, I have been totally phoning it in meal-wise around here lately because I have zero desire to cook and Eric really hasn't been around for dinner. However, I wanted to share one of my favorite summer-time dessert recipes with you. It is the Red, White and Blueberry Trifle by Skinnytaste. So easy to put together, so pretty, and tastes delicious. Definitely a crowd pleaser. I was craving banana pudding on Memorial Day so I made a variation of this dessert using banana pudding and bananas instead of the blueberries. It was yummy!

That's all for now folks - keep the good baby birthing vibes coming!
