Farewell Brooklyn | Brooklyn Family Photographer
When I got the call asking if I would come and document some of this family's favorite places around their neighborhood in the Williamsburg section of Brooklyn, I was thrilled. They were packing up their home after many years of living in the city, and, like many of us former city-dwellers do after having kids, moving on to a quieter, suburban existence. More space, near family. Only this wasn't just a move to Long Island or New Jersey, this family was making a huge life change and moving all the way to Austin, Texas. So documenting Brooklyn for them was a huge honor - being entrusted to record their favorite places, for them to take across the country and hold onto forever.
A little piece of Brooklyn in the heart of Texas.
I had not been to Williamsburg in probably ten years, at least. It has changed a lot since then - lots of new development, condos, restaurants, a spiffy new waterfront. But the artsy, free-spirited, unique vibe remains.
Here are a few of my favorite shots from the session.

Wishing much happiness to the Bamba family as they embark on this new adventure!
