A Year of Moving Pictures : July | Long Island Family Films

We have been taking full advantage of the summer vacation from school to visit some of our favorite places in the area. Norman Levy Park and Preserve is one of those places. I remember when we first discovered this oasis two summers ago, I was in awe. This beautiful, clean, idyllic location is just a few miles from our house?? How can it be? Whenever we go there for a hike, I feel like I am transported to the trails of the Hollywood hills!

Norman Levy Park and Preserve is a beautiful, peaceful place for a walk - you will see lots of joggers and hikers there. It is stroller friendly (better if you have a stroller with burly wheels - like our BOB). There are amazing views of the water, the nearby towns and even the Manhattan skyline! At the top is a bird sanctuary and two ponds with plenty of wildlife. There is pier below where you can fish, and at the entrance of the park, an area that houses goats! We love going there and highly recommend it for a half-day outing. There is also a kayak launch, which I can't wait to do with the kids once they get a bit older!

I didn't intend to take any video when we were there a couple of weeks ago, but it was such a gorgeous day, I couldn't resist. The footage I took became this little memory capsule. I hope you enjoy it, and that it inspires you to take a trip to this amazing park!
