Snapshots of our Week | Garden City, NY Family Documentary Photographer
We had a fun-filled week with my mom and dad in town. Lots of exploring Long Island (and beyond) and visiting some of our favorite places. Summer is definitely off to a great start (and I haven't even written up our Summer Bucket List yet!).
Here's a look at how we spent our week:
On Monday we headed out to the Bronx to spend the day at the zoo. Lila and Logan were SO good. We've been to the zoo many times, but this was the most engaged they have ever been while there and they didn't start to peeter out until we had been there for four hours. Usually two hours is about their max. I'm excited to take them there again.
If you live in the NYC area and you haven't visited the Bronx Zoo, be sure to add it to your Summer Bucket List! It is, hands down, the most beautiful zoo I've ever visited. So clean and the areas the animals are kept in are gorgeous and well-maintained. Such a fun day.
On Wednesday we drove out to Oyster Bay to visit Theodore Roosevelt Park, the same park and beach that we visited with Lila's class the week before school ended. It was a beautiful day and we had such a nice time at the beach, and then lunch afterward in the town of Oyster Bay. The water at this park is so gentle - its really a nice beach to come to with small kids. Bonus: there are bathrooms right on the beach and a playground nearby if you get bored with the sand. I am looking forward to visiting again soon.
The weather this week has been amazing. Fairly low humidity, which has made it perfect for spending time outdoors. We've had a lot of dinners in the backyard...even the bugs aren't too bad yet!
On Friday we went to one of our favorite places - Planting Fields Arboretum. The perfect place for a picnic and to run off some energy! The kids played "house" under a big tree for at least a half an hour. An awesome afternoon.
On Sunday morning we took Granny and Pea over to Adelphi's campus to see where our regular bunny-chasing excursions take place. It was a little early for the bunnies (they usually come out around dusk), but we did see a few.
We finished off the weekend with brunch in Garden City before saying goodbye to Granny and Pea. They flew back to California last night.
And that was our week. And what a good one it was!
Wishing everyone a happy and safe July 4th!
