Snapshots of Our Week: Documentary Family Photographer on Long Island
Can you believe that August is here? This summer is just flying by. We had another great week here on Long Island, dodging thunderstorms and basking in the sunshine. It was a perfect week for me to capture some documentary family photography: we visited Lila's best friend and her family at their new home and then we escaped for the weekend upstate. There's nothing like a change of environment to motivate me to pull the camera out!
We had such a good time in East Seutaket on Tuesday visiting Lila's best friend, Coco. What a beautiful new house her family has - and their backyard is to die for! So much space! The kids had a great time getting soaked in the sprinkler and playing together. Coco and Lila are so sweet together.
In between the extreme heat this week, we were hit with torrential rains and thunderstorms, so had a few days of taking shelter at home.
The best thing about summer is our after-dinner walks. I just love that it stays light so late (not so excited about it being light so early in the morning though - the kids have been waking between 5-6am!).
Lila has been doing a ton of drawing. I am amazed at how skilled she is getting with her artwork.
Eric had the weekend off, so on Friday we headed up to Copake to spend the weekend in the woods with Nana and Pops.
At the Hillsdale Farmer's Market, there was a guy making giant bubbles. The kids loved it!
Waiting patiently for muffins.
On Saturday afternoon we went over to Lake Taghkanic State Park. It was lovely!
Sunday was very rainy, so we hung around the "house in the woods" until it was time to head back to Long Island.
And that was our week! Okay August, what do you have in store for us??
Have a happy Monday, everyone!
