Snapshots of Our Week | Garden City Family Photographer
Is it me, or has this been the longest summer ever? We still have three whole weeks before school starts!! I love summer, but I do not love the heat. I think that is what has been making the days drag these last few weeks. This morning, though? It is gorgeous outside! Low humidity, a breeze! I have the windows thrown open, and I'm enjoying it while it lasts. I'm thinking we might even leave Garden City. I think the beach might be in our future.
So here is what last week looked like for our family.
We made Logan a little mud garden with a galvanized tub. The kids love it. The purpose was mainly to keep Logan out of our real vegetable garden, but this year it probably wouldn't have mattered. Our crop has been so sad. Usually we are drowning in tomatoes. Not at all this year. I've eaten ONE! I don't know what's going on. Maybe our garden hates the heat as much as I do!
Bubbles never get old.
Hiding from the sun indoors.
Evenings at the playground continue...
And often, we hit the playground in the afternoon, too. Thank goodness for playgrounds, right? I think a round-up of our favorite local playgrounds might be in the works for the blog soon...
When I'm at a loss as to what to do with the kids, I always default to lunch at Panera (and usually a trip to Target). On this day, we actually went to AC Moore after lunch at Panera, and bought some origami paper. Lila all of a sudden this week decided she wanted to make some origami! We looked up how to make a flamingo and a mermaid on Youtube, and had a fun crafty afternoon.
On Thursday Logan had a date with Nana, and Lila and I headed out east to visit Lila's best friend Coco and her family. We had a fun afternoon catching up, and swimming in the pool. I got some underwater housing for my Sony and had a blast playing with it for the first time.
On Friday, Lila left for a special weekend away upstate with Nana and Pops. It was nice to have a Logan and Mom weekend! (and also I was able to get a TON of work done during nap time - win!)
Here is the silly nugget having lunch.
And goofing around at home...
Another evening on the playground... this time Logan solo!
And then there was a tantrum on the way home. Oh two, you are a challenge.
Logan is really into lining up all his blocks, magnets and puzzle pieces that have letters or numbers on them. Our living room looks like an episode of Stranger Things. Communicating with the Upside Down??
Thunderstorms started to roll in, so the backyard time was cut short.
We rounded out the weekend with a Mom and Logan lunch date at yet another Panera and then another playground visit. Lila came home in the afternoon, and it was so good to see her!
And that was our week!
Alright, time to get out of this house and enjoy this beautiful weather. Have a great Monday, everyone!
