Snapshots of Our Week | Countdown to Christmas

As I sit here writing this, I can't believe it is December 18th already! This month has just flown by. Really the year has flown by.

2017 was a challenging year for me. I sat down the other day and started working in my 2018 planner and thinking about my intentions and goals for the new year. This coming year for me is going to be all about simplification - in all areas of my life. I am ready to focus and strip away anything that isn't totally necessary or serving me in some way.

Do you make intentions or resolutions for the new year? One way I like to reflect as new year's draws near is by working through Susannah Conway's "Unravel Your Year" worksheets. I also like to pick a word to focus on for the coming year. This year's word is going to be something simple, but one that I should do more: "Smile". I am ready for an infusion of joy.

This past week was a busy one as I worked in the city every day at "Hello Dolly". It was nice to be back at work finally after breaking my toe in October. Everything went smoothly - no run-ins with scenery! I saw a few friends and despite the holiday crowds, I loved being in the city everyday. NYC is pretty magical at Christmas-time.

Since I was working, I didn't take too many photographs last week. Here's a little peek, though, into what the week looked like.

Our living room is looking pretty festive. This is the first year we have placed the tree in an open spot in the room, rather than barricaded behind the couch. SInce our kids are finally old enough to know not to pull it over, we decided on this new spot this year. I like it. In fact, I slept on the couch the other night with the tree lights on. It was magical.

Logan and I went over to 7th Street in Garden City the other day to pick up a few things. It looks so festive and cute all decorated for the holidays.

We got more snow this week - just enough for everything to be blanketed, but not enough for school to be cancelled. The flakes were coming down one morning as we walked Lila to school. I took some pictures so that one day she can tell her kids "look, I had to walk miles to school everyday in the snow!" haha :) I actually enjoy the walk to her school every morning. It's a nice way to start the day.

The temperatures have been pretty cold, so we have been mostly staying inside during the day. Logan likes to take my iPad and sit on my bed and sing along with the Frozen soundtrack. I actually bought him a karaoke machine and some CDs for Christmas. I think he's going to love it!

I love spending everyday with this little guy. I am a lucky mommy.

And that was our week!
