Dravet Foundation City Bash | New York City Event Photographer
I had the great honor of photographing a very special event for the Dravet Foundation last month. Their signature fundraising event, this year called "City Bash", was held at the New York City restaurant The Farmer and the Fish, and was a wonderful night complete with champagne tasting, dinner, an auction and a presentation highlighting the stories of some of the children living with Dravet Syndrome. I loved having the opportunity to photograph something different from my usual family sessions, yet still in a documentary style. I did have to remind myself on a number of occasions that I was there to work though, when I got caught up in reading and listening to stories of children with this terrible disease. Dravet Syndrome is a rare form of epilepsy that can result in severe issues that impact the the patient and their family's quality of life. For more information, please take a look at the Dravet Foundation's website, read some of the stories, and help if you can.
