Amélie | A New York City Baby Session
Last month I had a film session with a 100-year-old woman, and this newborn session, with a five-pound newborn baby, within a few days of each other. It was quite amazing to experience both extremes in one week... it was beautiful to see human life at its very beginning and in its twilight. The "circle of life" indeed.
This newborn session was originally supposed to be a Fresh 48 session in a hospital, but a few weeks before the birth, the parents told me that they had decided to try for a home birth instead. We switched up plans so that I would come to their upper west side apartment within two days after the baby was born.
Little Amélie arrived during the last days of April, and the home birth (I'm told), went quickly and seamlessly. The whole family was happy, healthy and peaceful when I arrived to photograph them at home. A few photographs from the session are pictured below.
Welcome to the world, sweet Amélie!
