We had such a fun fall-themed week!
On Monday it was Columbus Day, so we had no Parent/Child class. Lila and I headed over to Schmitt's Farm to get some pumpkins. They had a huge pumpkin patch of already-picked pumpkins, or you could pick your own from the field. There was also a corn maze, hayrides, playgrounds for big and little kids, and a petting zoo. We picked out a couple of small pumpkins (we'll get some big ones with Eric at the pumpkin patch near our house), and then Lila spent some time on the playground and fed some goats at the petting zoo. It was a great outing!
On Wednesday we drove up to Copake for the rest of the week. It is so beautiful up there this time of year - Lila had a great time playing in the leaves, collecting rocks and acorns, and throwing rocks in the pond.
On Friday we went apple picking near Hudson, NY with Nana and Pops. We came home with four big bags of Golden Delicious, Jonagolds, and a few pears. Lila must have eaten at least 10 apples that morning and kept saying "APPLE" over and over again.
On Saturday I went to the Sheep and Wool Festival in Rhinebeck while Lila went to the Rail Trail with Nana and Eric and his dad worked at the house. On Sunday, Eric and Lila came back to the Sheep and Wool Festival with me. We checked out all the animals on Sunday - the Leaping Llama contest was our favorite. Lila had a good time until she was stung by a bee on her thumb-sucking thumb. So sad!
We got back to Copake around 3 and after a nap, spent some time down by the pond.
It was an awesome week! Now we are home and trying to get back into the swing of things. Halloween is up next and then Lila's birthday, so preparations are underway for both.
