Friday round-up | Long Island Family Photographer

There were so many awesome reads on the internet this week! Some weeks, not so much, but this week - gold!

We are in the thick of a summer heat wave here in New York. These photos of the city in the summer of '69 are fun to look through!

The CTFD Method for Parenting. So much, YES.

We gotta get moving on our Summer Bucket List. One of things I want to do is go berry picking. Here is a list of places you can pick berries if you live on Long Island, like us!

Have a vacation planned? Here are some great travel photography tips.  And here are some tips for traveling with little kids.

I love this baby blanket. Would be perfect for a little boy.

I love this book-themed first birthday party! Keeping that idea in my back pocket as a possible theme for Lila's next birthday!

I would love to have a porch swing like this! Cup holders! First we need a porch.

This couple spent a day taking self-portraits at every single subway station in Manhattan. What a fun challenge!

Chilled Watermelon Cucumber Feta Salad sounds like the perfect meal for this heat.

Do you have a support system in social media? I know I've met a lot of wonderful friends through Flickr and Twitter.

I love this crochet bunting. I this may be a future project for me.

I've got this Summer BBQ Quinoa Salad on our meal plan for next week. It looks SO good.

Shutterbean's Cornflake Marshmallow Cookies look amazeballs!

I've had so much fun shooting instant film for 'Roid Week this week. This book about the history of Polaroid is on my wish list!

This overhead video footage of Niagara Falls is spectacular!

Chipotle Beer Shrimp Quesadillas with Spicy Guac? You had me at Chipotle and Beer.

For every woman who has ever spent $100 at Target and had her husband say "What did you buy??". Ha - this is so me!

Elise's analogy at the end of this post about parenting and "the woods" really struck a chord with me. I'll be holding on to her words for all the times that I need a reminder :)

Have a kick ass weekend everyone.  I'll leave you with a photo of some snow - stay cool!
