Snapshots of our Week | Long Island Family Photographer

I have missed these weekly recap posts. Like, a lot. So I am bringing them back. And my "Everyday Stories" photographs & narratives, which are part of my "100 Stories" project, will be a monthly post.

My whole reason for being a photographer, and the mission of my business, is to document. To record stories, family legacies. And I feel like without these weekly recap posts, I am not doing a very thorough job with recording my own family's history. So they're back.

This week! This week was a good week, a busy week. Monday was both Lila and Logan's "special day" at school, which meant I went to school with them and helped out in the classroom. Here are a few shots from Logan's class:

Lila's class had a field trip to the local fire station! It was really fun, and the kids LOVED taking turns with the fire hose!

Later, after lunch at school, the class spent a good forty-five minutes outside playing. It was such a gorgeous spring day and I loved hanging out with Lila and her friends.

Spending time inside the classroom was fun, too. I am always amazed by how much Lila has learned and how much she flourished during her time at this school.

We have still been getting rain on and off each week. I keep reminding myself that rain is what is allowing everything to turn green - so I am not too cranky about it. Plus, we just put on rain boots and jackets and go outside anyway!

A favorite activity lately has been picking flowers. There is a strip of grass behind the baseball fields that has an abundance of dandelions. Lila picked a whole bouquet there the other day.

The most wonderful time of the year has arrived: BUBBLE SEASON!

We have been walking over to the playground whenever we can after dinner. It is so nice to spend the evenings outside.

On Saturday we headed over to Planting Fields for the Arbor Day festival. The kids weren't so into the festival (it was HOT) but they absolutely loved exploring the old estate (it was open for self-guided tours and we had never been inside before), and of course they loved the greenhouses.

It was a great week! We are looking forward to many more of the same now that warm weather season has arrived.
