Snapshots of Our Week | Long Island Family Photography

The past two weeks or so have been cra-azy with school winding down. So many events and meetings and festivities!

Monday was our final day in Copake before heading back to Long Island. It was a rainy Memorial Day, so we skipped getting drenched at the town parade and instead had our own in the house. The kids marched around with handmade decorations and I found some patriotic music on Pandora. It was really cute!

Back at home we enjoyed sunnier weather. The kids have been obsessed with bubbles and we have been going to the playground almost every day.

On Thursday morning, Lila had her kindergarten orientation. It was really fun to tour the school - we saw the music room, the art room, the kindergarten classrooms, the gym, the PT room, the library, the computer lab, and the kids climbed onto a bus! Lila's favorite was the computer lab. She is really excited to start in the fall.

After the kindergarten orientation, we drove over to Oyster Bay to meet up with Lila's pre-K class who were at the beach! It was a fun afternoon of collecting treasures and playing on the playground. And then we got to take the train back - which the kids LOVED.

Between events, there has been plenty of chill-axing at home as well.

On Saturday there was a fun children's event at Lila and Logan's school. Two bands played, there was facepainting, animal balloons, crafts, and a scavenger hunt. Everyone had a great time.

And then on Sunday, Lila woke up with strep throat :( Such a bummer - she is missing the last two days in her pre-K classroom - but hopefully will be well enough to go to the class picnic and graduation at the end of the week. Fingers crossed!

So that was the story of our week - a few more days and then school is out for the summer, and I officially have a kindergartner in the house!
