Snapshots of our Week | Long Island Family Photographer
I have to say, I really like October. Although the beginning of the school year is kind of insane, and then you are immediately catapulted into holiday after holiday, the fall festival weekends of October (at least out here on the east coast), are pretty great.
Weekdays around these parts are busy this year. Drop offs and pick ups and buses and after-school activities. It’s a lot - but Lila and Logan are happy, and that’s all that truly matters. Thankfully I decided against scheduling anything extra for our weekends, so dance and Girl Scouts and puppy training - all that happens on weeknights. As I said, it makes for a busy week, but then Saturday rolls around, and we can really just enjoy two days of down time together.
We have been taking full advantage of all the fun fall activities going on in the area. This past weekend we went and picked out pumpkins at the local patch as well as heading over to the farm to pick up our CSA share. Unfortunately Saturday morning was rainy, so we just picked up the veggies and headed out - no exploring this week. I switched out all the kids’ clothes to long-sleeves as the temps have drastically dropped in the past week. On Sunday we went over to the Queens County Farm (which was packed!) and went through their corn maze, which is so fun - I highly recommend checking it out if you are in the area! We made it through in about an hour, after finding all the pieces to the map (which are scattered in mailboxes around the maze). The kids loved it.
This week I am gathering bits and pieces for Halloween costumes, and going on a field trip with Logan’s class. Someone told me at school drop-off today that we may get snow flurries on Thursday - I am not ready!
Hope you all have a great week!
