Snapshots of our Week | December Days
I’m kind of brain-dead over here, having shut off my working brain for the past few days (and for the next two weeks) as I am blessedly caught up on editing. I am taking a break from my Lightroom and Final Cut Pro and social media scheduling, and just taking time to enjoy the holidays. It has been a busy, busy year - which I am truly grateful for - but it is nice to be able to slow down and just relax in these final weeks of 2018. I am finishing up the Christmas shopping, putting together gifts for Logan’s teachers (I’m co-class mom this year), and plowing through Michelle Obama’s book. I’ve even taken myself to lunch a couple of times already!
Last week was all about finishing up the editing on a few outstanding photo and video sessions. Of course both kids got sick, just to add to the challenge! Lila stayed home with strep throat for the first three days of the week, and then Logan woke up with a sore throat on Friday, so he stayed home and went in for a strep test (negative, thank goodness). Somehow the editing got done, though, and I felt like a great weight had been lifted on Saturday. This is literally the first time all year I have felt caught up with work! There are still things that need attention - but they can wait until January.
On Sunday we went to the Millridge Inn for “Breakfast with Santa”. It was sweet and Christmassy… and I even managed to get a picture of Lila and Logan (reluctantly) with Santa! It was a nice end to the week.
Wishing you all well in this final holiday countdown! I hope you all get a bit of down time this coming week.
