Snapshots of our Week | August Days
Summer is flying by. We had a fun week although I didn't take many photos. My photography mojo has been seriously lacking as of late. I'm not sure why.
Playdate with Logan's class at a local playground. It was fun seeing all the kids again. Logan was in heaven. I can't believe this will be our final year at the nursery school!
We tried to go to Old Westbury Gardens so that I could shoot some photos for my class materials, but they are closed on Tuesday. Who knew? Not us, apparently. So we headed over to the Nassau County Museum of Art instead. The kids humored me and let me take their photos in the sculpture garden and then we went and walked around the museum. I'm happy that my kids like museums - surprisingly the whining is kept to a minimum! They actually enjoy wandering around, exploring.
I decided to throw in the towel on swim lessons for the year. The anxiety on everyone's part was just too much to take. Stomachaches the night before, crying that morning before class. Not worth it, especially with the upcoming packed fall schedule that we have. I am researching private lessons and hopefully I'll get the kids started up again in the spring.
We dropped Lila's school supplies off at school and got a sneak peek at her first grade classroom. She'll be right across the hall from the room where she went to kindergarten.
Tank had a vet appointment. He has a little ear infection so we got some drops for that. He now weighs 20 lbs! After lunch we went over to Old Westbury Gardens for a few hours. It was a gorgeous day. Tank had puppy class that night.
Appointments for Lila and I and a trip to the Queens Zoo with Dana and Marge. It was a busy day, but a good one. The kids loved the zoo.
Video session out in New Jersey. It was a fun afternoon in a beautiful location. Loved hanging out with the family. All sessions should be so easy! Listened to five podcast episodes on my drives to and from New Jersey. I'm obsessed with "Armchair Expert". Dax Shepard is too damn funny. I listened to an episode where he interviewed an actor I did a couple of plays with when I first moved to New York. Its funny how life works. Now this guy is a pretty well-known TV actor. Interesting to compare then and now.
I went to Panera for a few hours in the morning and tried to write more of my class materials. I'm having trouble jumping back into it after a few months of not looking at what I had written. The rest of the day we just hung out at home. The weather is getting HOT.
