Welcoming Amelia | Queens Newborn Photographer

Just before Christmas I was invited to document one of the early days at home with this new family of three. Sweet Amelia was welcomed into the world at NYU and brought home to Queens just a couple of weeks before Thanksgiving. It was lovely to spend a quiet, rainy morning with her sweet family. I just loved seeing how tender both mom and dad were with her, cozied up in a chair by the window overlooking their street. The family had returned from Thanksgiving away (baby’s first trip!) and were looking forward to celebrating the upcoming holidays at home. The tree was up and decorated - all ready for baby’s first Christmas.

These early newborn days go by in such a haze. I barely remember my kids being this small, and I treasure the photos I have of them from this stage. Their tiny fingers and wrinkled skin. The little cries and drunken smiles.

I hope these photos prove to be a treasured time capsule for Amelia’s family, too. A memory frozen in time, from when she was so small and new.
