Snapshots of our Week | Winter Break

I’m late getting this posted this week! Last week the kids were on winter break from school. It was a week of lazy mornings, no rush to get out the door - so nice! I took Lila to the salon on Tuesday to get her first real haircut. She loved the whole experience and was so proud of her straight, blown-out hair! Unfortunately the next day she found out what happens when you get blown-out hair wet, and so she was back to her natural waves. Her hair still looks lovely though.

On Thursday we drove up to Copake for the weekend. So much snow up there! We actually had to leave my car at the bottom of the driveway and walk up - it was way too icy to get the cars up the hill. We spent the weekend with our friends Joe and Cassandra and their 10-month-old daughter, Rose. Lila and Logan loved having a baby around to play with. We introduced them to the first two original Star Wars movies and E.T. There were some tears (especially when E.T. went home!) but all-in-all, a good first viewing! The kids also went sledding and had a blast - we’ve had so little snow at home that this was their first opportunity this winter!

We are back home now and waiting for an impending snow storm to arrive tonight. I’d be lying if I said I was hoping for school tomorrow… I’d kind of like another lazy morning of hibernation.

Only one more week until the clocks change! The lighter afternoons have already made such a difference in mood around here. I am looking forward to when the outside temps start to match the light.

I’ve been working hard behind the scenes on a re-vamp for this site and some streamlining to my session offerings. I’m also looking forward to some sessions coming up with some old favorite families of mine! I am likely going to be making these “Snapshots” posts a monthly feature from now on, rather than weekly, so that I can start fitting in some blog posts on other topics. Let me know if there’s anything you’d like me to write about!

I finished up “Teethkiss” last week - the photography class I was taking with the amazing Yan Palmer - and I am feeling so inspired and excited for the year ahead and the direction of my business. So many ideas flowing! Stay tuned!

Happy March, everyone!
