April & May Snapshots | Long Island Family Photographer
Wow, scrolling through the images below, I can’t believe all that was packed into the last two months! The view outside my office window today looks very different to the image below of Logan and Tank on the front lawn. The trees are now a vibrant green and our patchy lawn has almost filled in. The daffodils have wilted and I am planning a trip to the nursery next week for some colorful annuals to plant along the path to the front door. Summer is almost here!
The past few weeks have been such a whirlwind of activity, it’s been hard to find time to take photos, let alone blog them. We have been enjoying our spring though, the main highlight being a 10-day trip to California for my brother Simon’s wedding. It was wonderful reconnecting with family and celebrating Simon and Amreet. It was also the first time in years that I had been in California and the weather was not sunny! We arrived amidst rain showers, and spent our first weekend there at Lake Tahoe… in the snow! Luckily I did have a bit of a heads up, so we were prepared with jackets, but wow - that was a first!
It was hard to return to the east coast, but return we did, and we are in the middle of those manic last weeks of school. Logan graduates from pre-K next week, and as co-class mom I am up to my eyeballs preparing for the graduation ceremony and all the surrounding field trips, activities and celebrations. I’ve been shedding a tear or two while editing a slideshow to be shown at the graduation. Some of the kiddos have been in class together since they were two - just babies! Its amazing to see how much they have grown in the last three years. I can’t believe we will be saying goodbye to this nursery school. It was where I met my first real friends here on Long Island, and has become such a big part of our lives. Graduation will be a bittersweet day, for sure.
In the meantime, we are loving the breezy, sunny days and are happy to be reunited with Tank after two weeks away from him (while we were in CA). Tank celebrated his first birthday on Cinco de Mayo and we are more grateful than ever for our sweet pup. He makes us laugh and is always up for a belly rub, the big mush.
Looking forward to the lazy days of summer ahead….
